This week Susan and I traveled with our daughter, her fiance and our grandson to Oceanside, California.
As many of you know, Susan and I lost our son Jake in a horrible car accident just over a year ago, Jake was just 19.
The last year has been a rough one. Many days it's been just kind of a fog, just doing our best to make it through the day.
Soon after Jake's accident we decided to make a trip to Jake's favorite
place..Oceanside, California.
Jake and his big sister Jess were very close. Each year they took a trip together and twice they came here and Jake loved it.
Thinking back, I remember all the support from
folks that are part of the Sasquatch Nation and wanted to let you all know how much it meant (and still means) to our family.
It's said that time heals all wounds and to some degree I guess that's partly true. But a parent's heart remains broken with the loss of a child.
This trip has been bittersweet as we visit the places that Jake loved in this place he didn't get to spend enough time in.
Thank you again to everyone who shared their kind words and sympathy and even stories of their own loss.
We love and miss you everyday Jake.
